Wickliffe park metal detecting

 I went to a local Wickliffe park metal detecting.

Not very successful, but still fun.

It always amazes me how something like a beer can finds its way 4 to 5 inches underground.

This Genesee can was found close to the park entrance, so how it got so far underground is a mystery. You'd think it would have been picked up or kicked further into the park when it was tossed there years ago.

The key is a Ford from the mid 60's to 70's, I believe,

The front says Ford, and the back says Family of Fine Cars.

Whenever I dig, I carry out everything dug up, even broken pieces of glass.

"Carey, Oh, Carey!"

 Why does weirdness and bizzaro-ness follow me no matter where I go, even at home.

I worked half a day, came home to do yard work, and it started.

I was being serenaded by my backyard neighbor.

"Carey, Oh, Carey! IS IT A BOY WITH A GIRLS NAME? OR IS IT A GIRL WITH A BOYS NAME? Doesn't matter because it's one and the same! Oh Carey, Carey"! The off-keyed crooner bellowed over and over and over for at least an hour. 

That wasn't the only thing this uncouth chanter chanted. There were other rhythmic dirty ditties that I refuse to put in print.

I laughed and bowed while trying to catch the person assaulting my ears on a video cam.

My next-door neighbor had enough of it and said this bothers me. You may not be insulted, but I am. So he started shouting back with a barrage of words that would have silenced any heckler.

Nope, the person on the window ledge continued on, "Carey, Oh, Carey! IS IT A BOY WITH A GIRLS NAME? OR IS IT A GIRL WITH A BOYS NAME? 

My neighbor called the cops. The men in blue entered my yard to get a front-row view of the obnoxious singer. But suddenly, the person shut the window and ended the solo performance.

The cop said there is not much we can do, but we will go over there to see what is going on. 

He returned a short time later with this report:

When we pulled up in front of the house, we immediately recognized it, we had been called there multiple times. We are dealing with an extreme case of alcoholism; it's a husband and wife. She says she would stop.

I exclaimed. Wait! THAT'S A WOMAN SINGING? I am impressed. Wow, did she sound like a guy? Amazing, just amazing.

The cop said if it happens again, just call us. 

And now that song is stuck in my head -

"Carey, Oh, Carey! IS IT A BOY WITH A GIRLS NAME? OR IS IT A GIRL WITH A BOYS NAME?

 Doesn't matter because it's one and the same! Oh Carey, Carey"!

Dreams

 I dream constantly, even during naps, and I remember most dreams.

Not the entire dream but snippets or the main point.

And many times I say now why did I dream that?

For instance last night Michael Macarine was in my deam and so was Gale Joy.

I was serving Michael spaghetti and he said I shouldn't eat this because I just ate but I will. He just loved the pasta.

And then I dreamt Gale and I were walking on the beach that was President McKinley's lavish estate with people everywhere talking politics and how America's Imperialism is wrong.

So whats so strange about these dreams? Nothing.

A wop serving spaghetti to a fellow paison who is not hungry but eats it anyways.

And taking a walk talking politics with a constitution minded friend.

Wish I had normal dreams like this more often.

Eclipse Preparation

 Not sure what will happen during the eclipse but I am prepared.

Chairs ready, glasses ready, coffee ready, and 30 sharpened stakes with a large mallet on standby.

I watched enough horror movies so I ain't taking chances.

What's for lunch?

 One of the reasons workers love working for me is the meals. I will find a way to cook. It is cheaper than going out, and it's tastier and healthier. 

We are redoing my rental, which doesn't have a stove, so I brought a deep fryer. Aw, fresh-cut fries and chicken wings, nothing like it for a lunch break. 

The added benefit -  customers usually remark wow, it smells so good in here!

Leap Day 2024

 Leap Day, so how did I spend the extra day?

My day was as such -

Get a friend's vehicle that was parked at another friend's house so the first friend could drive home from the airport - 12:36 received phone call - organize the work van - go to my accountant - go to the post office - switch vehicles and drive the work van to Tops TV on E185 St Cleveland that was holding a cassette player they repaired back in the fall - 3:38 received phone call - run to the rental house to meet my worker and the previous tenant to retrieve her mail - 4:03 received phone call - unload work van so I could pick up items in Mentor - 4:50 received phone call - then load up two boxes of old beer cans someone wanted to buy - 5:01 received phone call then I got upset because I remembered while at my accountants I forgot I needed to drop off a jacket and glasses a friend left in my van, oh well - 5:09 make phone call - 5:44 received phone call - speed to a friends house in Mentor who was waiting since Sunday to remove a few things because he was not able - 6:11 received phone call - 6:18 received phone call - speed to a warehouse on the other side of Mentor to a warehouse that had a door for my rental - 6:31 make phone call - 6:35 received phone call - 6:38 received phone call - 7:03 received phone call - speed yet to another area in Mentor to meet a man at a restaurant parking lot who wanted to buy the old beer cans, I was waiting a good 15 minutes, he called and said where are you? duh he was 4 cars over, and we didn't know it - pick up a quick snack at Arby's - went back to the rental to unload the door and work van and hang a cupboard and clean - 9:38 received phone call - 9:43 received phone call - 9:46 received phone call - speed home only to be stopped by James, who wanted to be shown where the Winter Cookout/Freeze Fest is - 1:18 received phone call

And that concluded my day.

OH and I didn't log the texts and emails and messages through Messenger.

What a way to waste an extra day.

Double Take

  I drove my 1995 Chevy G20 green van to Discount Tire to get work done. I thought going the day after Thanksgiving would be ideal. I found out it's one of the year's busiest days. So, to kill time, I brought in one of the books I authored, Travel Life "n" Carey On... to read. I noticed the man across from me, also waiting, was wearing a Make God Great Again shirt. Of course, I had to comment, which spurred a good conversation. We agreed on everything politically, and he purchased one of my books.

As we conversed, I looked into the service area, and my van was in the bay. I then glance out into the parking and do a double take. What? There's my van.

The mechanic then drives my van into the bay next to the other green van.

The attendant at the desk said Now that's weird we hardly ever get G20 vans in here, and they are both green and 95!

The only difference was that mine is a shorty, his was the Gladiator conversion, and mine is the Sherry conversion but everything else, the same windows, color, and year! Now that's odd.
