Billy Graham Library in NC

 A travel suggestion.

Believers and non-believers.
You should tour the Billy Graham Library in NC.
The setting, the life story, and the guides were all amazing.
I felt peace and uplifted, and it made me reflect.
Though it is about Billy Graham, it is more about his journey of preaching the Gospel, how many lives were impacted, and how many high-profile leaders and homeless people he took the time to talk to.
I took the tour, and then 2 days later the tropical-like rain started from Hellene and we had to leave.

Roar on the Shore

 Hey Gang,

Besides Sherry winning but not winning, it was a fun and productive day.

I made new friends, 15-year-old Jason and Ken.

I thought Roar on the Shore might be boring, so I brought my metal detector. Jason saw it in the van, and we talked about metal detecting at the park where we were and all the items he had found. He also gave me tips on where to look.

If they keep the same format, Roar on the Shore has turned into a must-attend event. I bet there had to be around 400 cars and the setting was perfect by Lake Erie.

Later, I met Ken at Annabelle's, who showed me his Ford Model A. It was enjoyable listening to him talk about his various jobs at gas stations and stories of working on cars and customers.

And to top it all off, I sold four books.

So it was a fun, productive day.

So Sherry won an award, but I didn't win.

So Sherry won an award, but I didn't win.

Huh?
I was at Roar on the Shore car show.
15 minutes before they were calling out the winners, a volunteer stopped by my van and yelled who's van is this.
I said mine.
He replied, Where's your registration.
Um, I didn't register.
Oh well, you won best non-car, It's too bad you didn't register; maybe next year.
So I won but didn't.
And then it got worse when word was going around about a man winning but didn't register so he didn't win.
And that sums up my day.

Pepper Patch

You heard of Dr. Pepper, Sgt. Peppers, well, here are my peppers.

Cucumbers are long gone, I had a good crop, a decent amount of zucchinis, insects ravaged the broccoli, tomatoes did eh OK, but my pepper patch was amazing.
I've been frying them, adding them to my omelets, grilling them with olive oil, just about every meal I have a pepper.
Some are so bloody hot that they gave me hiccups and made my head itch, so I dried them to use them in chili and spaghetti & garlic.

My ''95 Chevy G20 Sherry conversion

Went to a couple of abandoned places to shoot photos of my ''95 Chevy G20 Sherry conversion.

You may not be able to see it clearly but the top part of tall sign is the same color green as my van.
I use to eat at Mr. C's, it was really good food with a quaint old atmosphere. Its been closed now for at least 10 years.
I looked in the windows and the tables are all set, with dishes, napkins and menus ready for the following day. Just eery seeing the restaurant prepped like that with it now sitting abandoned and decaying. Wonder what closed it.

The other is from an old feed store. Its crumbling and soon I am certain will be razed. Next door is a gem and rock shop. My parents took us there years ago when I was a boy. My dad back then got into a short lived hobby of rock tumbling.

My Absurd Dreams

 My mind never stops.

I constantly dream, even when I take short naps.
I usually remember and post only my more profound dreams, but lately, I remember the more absurd.
For instance, I dreamt I pulled a newborn mouse out of my ear and threw it on the ground.
Then I spent the next part of the dream walking around looking for that mouse to show my friends who didn't believe me.
Last night, I dreamt a man in a suit with an incredible broadcasting voice was telling me about a cassette with Country's greatest hits could be mine... then he said But wait, there's more, you could also have these 110 cassettes with more Country music in this case if you would... I think he was alluding to signing me up for cable.
But then I woke up for a bathroom break.
I'm glad I did, or I may be singing - My bed got wet, and it's not from rain, and could have added that song to the 111 cassettes.
